About Us
Los comales founder and patriarch camerino gonzalez had a dream of a better life in the united states, which led to the idea of bringing the comfort foods, aromas, and flavors of mexico to his community.
This inspiration led him to open up a small taco stand-style restaurant in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood in 1973, making Los Comales one of the first taquerías in Chicago. With the casual atmosphere of a diner, Camerino worked the grill to serve up fresh, hot, and delicious Mexico City-style tacos to as many customers as he could fit into the quaint little taquería.
